Fees and Charges
How much does it cost to sell on Tikiteboo™?
When you sell on Tikiteboo™ you will be charged our 10% Tikiteboo™ fee. This is deducted automatically. Our fee will be deducted through your Stripe account. The amount minus the fee will be paid out directly to you, this amount will be deducted before your payout reaches your account. The amount will be paid once the shipping has been added the order and marked as shipped with a valid tracking code.
You will also be charged a transaction fee from Stripe. This is a charge directly from the payment processor. The fees will be deducted before your funds are processed into your account.
Why does Tikiteboo™ charge 10%?
Tikiteboo™ charges a 10% selling fee for sales on the platform. Our 10% fee is in place to keep the website up and running, release new features, and pay our employees.
We only charge you when you make a sale, this means there are no fees for the length of time your item has been listed for or any initial costs to list the item.
If you have refunded any sales, we’ll refund you for the Tikiteboo™ fee.
How much will I be charged?
Whenever you make a sale on Tikiteboo™, you will be charged the following:
10% Tikiteboo™ fee
A standard transaction fee of around 2.7% + $0.30 across Stripe applies. There may be additional variations based on your location and Stripe account set up.
How can I check my fees?
You can check and withdraw your payments through your account dashboard and as well as on your transactions through Stripe. You can login to your Stripe account and check transactions, process refunds and check the pay out dates of your payments.
How does shipping work?
You will setup your fees via your chosen provided according to weight in your account settings and listings. Shipping is your responsibility to arrange with your chosen provider. We recommend using the NZ Post online cost calculator to help out.
Our fee is not including the shipping those costs all go to you to cover the shipping cost.
If you choose to include shipping in your prices then you will incur the 10% commission as it can not differentiate between the cost of shipping.

- Payment Processing Fees:
- Tikiteboo utilises Stripe as its payment processing platform, offering a straightforward pay-as-you-go pricing structure.
- Sellers should be aware of the Stripe transaction fees, which are as follows:
- For domestic cards: 2.7% of the transaction amount + NZ$0.30.
- For international cards: 3.7% of the transaction amount + NZ$0.30.
- These fees are applied to each order, and there are no setup fees, monthly fees, or hidden charges. It’s important to consider these fees when pricing your items.

To ensure a seamless listing experience and maintain the high standards of our platform, please adhere to the following guidelines when listing your products:
- Product Eligibility:
- All items listed must be pre-owned or gently used, promoting sustainable fashion practices.
- Products should fall under the categories of clothing, accessories, or footwear. We do not allow the sale of costume jewellery.
- Item Condition:
- Please ensure that items are in pristine preloved condition, with no tears, marks, rips, stains or odours. They should be in like-new or excellent preloved condition.
- Detailed Descriptions:
- Provide a comprehensive and informative description for your product. Include details like brand, size, material, colour, and any unique features. Ensure to list absolutely anything that may alter a buyers decision so that when it arrives they are fully satisfied 😊
- Highlight what makes your item special or distinctive.
- High-Quality Images:
- Upload clear, well-lit photos that accurately represent your item. Showcase it from multiple angles and include close-ups of any significant details or imperfections.
- Ensure images are in focus and free from distractions.
- Pricing:
- Set a competitive and fair price for your item. Consider factors like brand, condition, and market value.
- List your item and if you want to offer it on sale you can do so in the product listing.
- Shipping and Payment:
- Provide shipping costs for countries you ship to – NZ and Australia at present.
- Be sure to allow enough to cover your costs and if you are to provide free shipping there is a box for you to add this on the shipping setup page.
- Ensure you add the weight based shipping for all tiers of weight that you offer.
- Sustainable Packaging:
- Embrace eco-friendly packaging materials when shipping your items. Reduce waste and promote sustainable practices.
- Honesty and Transparency:
- Maintain open communication with potential buyers. Promptly respond to inquiries and address any questions they may have.

- The sale of underwear and swimwear, including togs, is strictly prohibited on our platform. These items cannot be listed for sale.
- We prioritise the health and safety of our users and maintain high standards for the types of items that can be sold within our community.
- Please refrain from attempting to list or purchase these prohibited items.

Help for our Buyers 💚
Can I change my mind:
Vendors do not provide refunds if you change your mind or do not like the item when it arrives. Please spend time on the website carefully and ask any questions before purchasing your items as the only grounds for a refund is if the condition of the item is not as it was listed in the product at the time of sale. If the item is not as listed we may require you to send this item back at your cost to the vendor for the refund or credit to be issued.
I haven’t received my order:
You’ll want to get in touch with the seller you made the order with, as they’ll be organising your shipping for you. You can find their details in your invoice which will automatically be sent to you once you’ve paid. If you need additional support, please give our friendly team a shout via hello@tikiteboo.co.nz
My item is not as described in the listing:
All items should state the condition of the item in the description and you are encouraged to ask any questions before buying if you want to know anything specific. You can do this on the product listing page but clicking ask a question. If the item arrives and there is something vastly different in condition than was stated you will first need to get in touch with the seller. If you don’t get a response within a 3 days, get in touch with us at hello@tikiteboo.co.nz
We can then reach out to the vendor and once we have heard back from them we will come back to you. If they don’t respond within 3 days, we can talk about your options for a refund or credit.
What payment provider do you use?
We use Stripe to securely process all transactions for Tikiteboo™. We do not hold any credit card details for purchases through the website. You will see the transaction show on your statement as Tikiteboo.co.nz, Parnell, AKL.
